Jackson Meadow
M A R I N E O N S T. C R O I X, M N
Jackson Meadow is a community designed around connection, well-being, and a deep engagement with nature. Residents enjoy trails and open spaces that foster a true sense of community, with miles of walking, cycling, and Nordic ski trails offering daily opportunities for a healthy outdoor lifestyle. Preserved meadows and wooded areas invite children to explore freely in nature’s playground. The design honors the heritage of Marine on St. Croix through distinctive, functional architecture, high-quality construction, and energy-conscious building practices. Together, these elements create a neighborhood with a remarkable sense of place, where natural beauty, intentional design, and lifestyle converge. At Cates Fine Homes, we are honored to contribute to this exceptional setting, having built residences that celebrate the health, harmony, and lifestyle of Jackson Meadow.
About the Community
The
Land
Spanning more than 300 acres of rolling meadows, wooded hills, and expansive prairie views, Jackson Meadow clusters homes to preserve the natural landscape. An interconnected trail system winds through open fields and forests, shaping daily life around access to nature and recreation.
The
History
Jackson Meadow’s architectural principles reflect early colonial forms and Swedish and Scandinavian influences found throughout the St. Croix Valley. Designed by Minnesota architect David Salmela, the homes balance tradition and contemporary design within a cohesive village setting.
The
Preservation
Jackson Meadow was established in 1999 as a thoughtfully planned neighborhood rooted in the landscape and heritage of Marine on St. Croix. From the beginning, preservation guided its vision, resulting in a community where more than 70 percent of the land is permanently protected.
The
Experience
Life at Jackson Meadow unfolds along more than five miles of scenic walking, biking, and Nordic ski trails that connect homes, shared greens, and open natural spaces. Residents enjoy a close-knit, welcoming community fully immersed in nature, just minutes from schools, the village, and nearby regional destinations.
Jackson Meadow is not for everyone, but for those who value community, movement, and a deep connection to nature, it is truly special. Working alongside David Salmela, an award-winning architect in the Twin Cities area, our collaboration expresses skillful artistry, a deep harmony with the land, and homes that belong in their surroundings, creating a neighborhood that feels connected, grounded, and magical.
Every home we build is guided by care, craftsmanship, and attention to detail, honoring both the architectural vision and the natural setting. We are proud and grateful to contribute to Jackson Meadow, creating residences that families will cherish while preserving the unique character and spirit for generations to come.
